When Mohamed contacted me for a photoshoot, one of the first things I asked was how early he could start. He said anytime, which was great since he was staying in Ubud near the Monkey Forest. I suggested two possible locations, Monkey Forest and Alas Harum. Both are beautiful in their own way, but Mohamed preferred Alas Harum, and I completely agreed. It is one of my favorite places in Ubud, especially in the early morning before the crowd starts to arrive around 9 AM.
Alas Harum is a breathtaking spot surrounded by lush rice terraces, tropical greenery, and incredible jungle views. The place combines the natural beauty of Bali with artistic touches such as bamboo bridges, swings, and pathways lined with palm trees. When the morning light touches the terraces, everything glows softly, creating the perfect atmosphere for photos that feel calm, warm, and real.
This location works beautifully for all kinds of shoots. Couples can enjoy romantic moments, families can capture their Bali memories, and solo travelers can create photos that reflect peace and connection with nature. Starting early allows us to enjoy the quiet side of Ubud and capture the magic of Alas Harum at its best.
